How do we make our schools great?  By giving out teachers every tool they need to bring innovation, creativity and enthusiasm into the classroom to enhance the curriculum. The Butte Education Foundation strives to support Butte’s teachers by providing grants that bring their great ideas to life.  These grants support teachers in achieving educational goals that go beyond what is expected and provided by the budget.  The Great Ideas Grant Program is the cornerstone of the BEF’s mission to enrich education throughout Butte and Silver Bow County.

  • Grants are awarded twice a year, in the spring and fall.

  • Committee reviews grant applications submitted by teachers/administrators.

  • Grant funds can only be requested once for a project.

A grant application can be submitted by a teacher for up to $1,000, or by a student/parent in collaboration with a teacher or group of teachers for up to $3,000.
